A Closer Look

At Uniquely Yours, each day is thoughtfully designed to balance skill-building, social connection, and fun in a supportive, flexible environment. While every day includes consistent routines, activities are adapted to meet each participant’s individual needs, energy levels and communication style. Every child participates in their own way. Routines are predictable, but engagement is flexible. Skill building is naturally embedded into daily activities.

What your child’s day may include:

Arrival & Breakfast: Children ease into their day with a calm, flexible start.  Breakfast is available, and participants can choose from sensory play, building activities, or quiet table time. Our focus: comfort, routine, and communication
Morning Meetup: A short, interactive group time to introduce the day through songs, movement, and a visual schedule. Our focus: group participation in a flexible, low pressure way
Exploration & Play: Participants rotate through engaging spaces like art, movement, sensory exploration, and hands on activities. Our focus: independence, creativity, and learning through play
Snack & Outdoor Play: Children enjoy a snack followed by time outside for movement, fresh air, water play, and social play.  Our focus: social interaction, regulation, and motor skills
Lunch: A structured mealtime where participants build independence and communication skills in a supportive setting. Our focus: daily living skills, communication, and social routines
Rest & Recharge: Participants choose from calming activities, quiet play, or light movement depending on their needs. Our focus: self regulation and recognizing individual needs
Special Activities: Each day includes a featured experience such as cooking, sensory projects, music, or special visitors. Our focus: hands on learning and shared experiences
Snack & Outdoor Play: A second snack followed by additional outdoor time to support energy levels and engagement
Choice Time & Departure: Children choose preferred activities like art, movement, or sensory play while preparing for pick up. Our focus: independence, choice making, and a calm transition home

Program FAQ:

> Therapies like ABA, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech are medical or clinical services that focus on treating specific developmental challenges. Uniquely Yours is a supportive learning environment where children practice social, communication, and daily living skills through structured activities with peers. Therapy treats, while our program helps children practice and apply skills in real-life settings.

> Uniquely Yours was created specifically for individuals with disabilities who may not be successful in traditional childcare settings. Our program is designed with smaller ratios, individualized support, and staff trained to work with complex needs. We focus on creating an environment where children are included, supported, and valued, while still having fun and building friendships with peers.

> Yes. One of our core values is belonging. Children will participate in activities alongside peers whenever possible, with the supports they need to be successful. We focus on creating opportunities for social connection, shared activities, and friendships, while still honoring each individual’s unique needs.

> Transportation is not currently available. However, it is in our 3 year development plan as we grow and expand services.

> Our staff are trained to support individuals with disabilities and may receive training in areas such as: behavior support strategies, communication supports, safety awareness, personal care needs, and inclusive recreational programming.

Financial and Payment FAQ:

> Yes. There is a one time $50 enrollment fee per child.

> Rates are based on the tier of support your child requires, which is determined during your enrollment assessment. The support tier placement reflects staffing ratios, level of supervision, and individualized support needed for safe and meaningful participation.

> Programs like Uniquely Yours operate with much higher staffing and training requirements because the children we serve often need individualized support for safety, communication, and daily participation. Our goal isn’t just supervision – it’s creating a place where children with complex disabilities can safely play, learn, and build friendships while giving families the support they desperately need.

> If you are currently on the family support waitlist, you may still be able to access state respite funding through approved respite hours. In addition, we are working to offer scholarship opportunities to help make services more accessible for families when possible.

> At this time, we do not accept insurance. Our services are private pay, though some families may be able to use state respite funding or other support programs to cover costs.

> We understand the financial challenges many families face. Some families may be able to use: daycare assistance, state respite funding, scholarship opportunities. We are happy to help families explore available funding options.

> Yes, we accept daycare assistance (DCA) for eligible families to attend our programs. However, families may need to pay some out of pocket costs dependent on scholarship availability.
